The Case to Treasury: Nature as Critical National Infrastructure

Webinar recording: 17th September 2026

The Case to Treasury: Nature as Critical National Infrastructure, delivered in partnership with ISEP, Zero Hour, RSK and Connect2Change.

This webinar brought together voices from across infrastructure, policy, environmental management, systems thinking and nature recovery to explore a simple but important question:

Nature already performs infrastructure functions. What needs to change for us to plan, invest in, govern and maintain it as infrastructure?

Across the session, speakers examined the growing case for recognising nature as a foundational component of the UK's long-term resilience, prosperity, security and wellbeing, and discussed how a Strategic Nature Network could help coordinate investment, policy and delivery at a national scale.
